EY Global Internship: David Martinez

David Martinez, secretary of Beta Alpha Psi’s Delta Zeta Chapter at Chico State has accepted an offer to EY’s internship program. This is an exciting opportunity for David to excel his career at a big 4 international accounting firm. David chose this program because it would be a great opportunity to learn and practice real-world accounting, instead of just through course work. David also wants to experience what working in a big firm like EY is like.

David chose accounting for the challenge. He switched over from marketing because of his first accounting class here at Chico State. David was hooked and wanted to pursue accounting for a degree. David believes accounting is a great language and skill to learn that can be applied to so many different business and commerce.

Accounting majors should balance their lives with some fun. David’s favorite hobby is to ride his bike and see all the nature Chico has to offer. Hanging out with friends and relaxing are also things David likes to do in his spare time.

David is preparing for an exciting and rewarding career. Chico State’s accounting program is there to help students such as David excel in the business world. David is on his way to learn whether working in public accounting as a career fits his style. Working his way up to partner in a CPA firm sounds interesting to David. “Private accounting is always an option too — maybe a career as a controller or CFO.”
